How to use your washing machine correctly

Making a few choices before each wash will help you to use your washing machine in the most effective way means. These choices can save time in the long run.

Pick the right setting for doing your washing. Most fabrics can handle a regular wash but there are more delicate fabrics that will need a particularly gentle wash. There are also some heavier fabrics that may need some more robust handling. Choosing the right water temperature will also affect your wash.

Ideally, you should try to use a low washing temperature (about 40 degrees C). This temperature is enough for most lightly soiled fabrics. If you choose a higher temperature you will be using more energy. A lower temperature is a more eco-friendly way to wash. Unfortunately not everything can be washed like this, so some dirtier fabrics will need a higher temperature. A temperature of 95 degrees C is the highest you can get. This boil wash is only recommended for very dirty fabrics that can handle this temperature. Always check labels.  Before you decide to wash at this temperature you should try washing at about 60 degrees C as this temperature can still kill most bacteria.

How to use your washing machine

Using your washing machine properly will also save you a lot of badly washed clothes and linen. It’s worth taking a little extra time to get it right the first time then you won’t be wasting time, electricity and water by having to redo laundry.

Don’t try to jam too much into your washing machine. When loading your machine you will need to know what load size your machine can handle. Most washing machines are around 5-6kg. If you consider that a wool jersey can weigh up to a kilogram and a duvet cover can weigh 1.5kg this load size is quickly reached. When a washing machine is overloaded, the fabrics inside do not have proper space to move and end up having only sections getting detergent and these sections are usually not rinsed out properly either. You may even find lumps of washing powder in your supposedly washed laundry.

Use the right amount of washing detergent for the load of laundry you are washing. This may change from load to load so be sure you are using enough. You may find that if you are not using enough your whites will become yellow or grey very quickly.

Tips for getting your laundry done right

Here are a few tips for avoiding washing disasters. They only take a moment of time to do but can save you from a huge mess.

Use a laundry bag for items that can get wrapped up in other items like bikini tops with long ties. You’ll also want to put stockings and pantyhose in the laundry bag. By doing this you will prevent them from stretching and tearing unnecessarily.

Empty all those pockets and also check that things like tissues haven’t been shoved inside shirt sleeves. Pay particular attention to children’s clothes otherwise it is likely that you will be washing rocks, crayons and who knows what else.

Also close zippers and any zelcro to prevent unnecessary snagging. Zelcro is particularly good at attracting lint and this makes it ineffective.

When washing denim, turn it inside out and close whatever zippers or buttons there are. This will prevent the colour from fading unevenly.

Washing laundry

Before you even start to do your laundry, you’ll need to get organised. Whether you are doing your laundry at home or running a laundry business, you’ll need to stick to certain guidelines to ensure that the fabrics being washed last for as long as possible. Poor washing habits can age fabrics well before their time.

First things first: Sort your stuff
Sorting laundry should not just be about sorting lights from darks. If an item is white it should only be washed with white items. Even if a fabric is beige, the dye can transfer to other fabrics leaving whites looking dull. Wherever possible try to wash similar colours together.

Washing items with similar dirt levels is also a good idea. If there are some fabrics which are very greasy and oily in your load, it is likely that this grease will spread to other fabrics that may not be so greasy. If you have some items that are really dirty, you may want to put just a few of them in the machine together and use the most detergent that you can per load, to give them the best chance of getting clean.

Where you can, it will also save time to wash similar fabrics together. This way you can wash your delicate fabrics on a gentler cycle and your more robust fabrics can get the clean they need. This will also save you lint transfer to certain fabrics.

What traditional cleaners can I use for vinyl and linoleum floors?

If you are looking to clean vinyl or linoleum floors with traditional cleaning products you have many choices. You may wish to also polish or seal this type of floor and then you will need to purchase strippers as well as sealers.

First to clean you can use a product like Cleardet. This cleaning product is a great multi-purpose detergent that lifts dirt off the floor quickly and effectively. This cleaning product has no fragrance so it’s great for kitchen areas. To sanitise you can use Sanclean. This cleaning product is an effective disinfectant and kills fungi, mould, germs and bacteria.

To strip the floor of previous wax polishes or polymer coatings, you can use Stripper or Stripper NA. Stripper NA does not contain ammonia. Ammonia has a strong smell and this may not be acceptable in some places if cleaning takes place during work hours.

To replace the shine on the floor, Supershine 14 or 20 will do the job. You can choose for 14% or 20% solids. Supershine is a concentrated polymer floor coating that leaves the floor with a hard, shiny, non-slip coating. Buffable Floor Coating is another option as this cleaning product contains extra medium soft waxes for use on vinyl floors.

With so many choices for cleaning your vinyl and linoleum floors, Blendwell Chemicals is the best place to buy your wholesale cleaning products. With our factory in Johannesburg, South Africa we are your best choice for cleaning chemicals

Cleaning flexible floors like vinyl or linoleum can be done in many different ways. Where these floors are will certainly affect how they should be cleaned. If being eco-friendly is a concern, then you can’t just use any cleaning products.

How do I clean flexible floors in a food factory?

Flexible floors would be flooring like linoleum and vinyl. Depending on where you have these floors will depend on how you need to clean them. Your budget may also affect the cleaning product choices you make.

If these floors were in a food factory, kitchen, restaurant or other food preparation area you would probably need to clean these floors with a HACCP compliant cleaning product. Blendwell Chemicals manufactures the h-range of cleaning chemicals and this range has specifically been designed for the food industry.

To clean these floors you could use Neutra H. This cleaning chemical is a general purpose cleaner. Its blend of surfactants gives it maximum cleaning power. This cleaning chemical is high foaming and free rinsing.

To sanitise these floors it would be a good idea to use another h-range (HACCP compliant) cleaning product. Quot HF is a high grade disinfectant detergent that complies with SABS 639 and 1853. It has broad spectrum germicidal qualities and can be used through foaming machines. This cleaning chemical is food safe.

How to clean your luggage

Silly season is very nearly upon us and I'm sure we're all looking forward to the holidays. If you're going away, then I'm sure you've already done a fair amount of organizing. This weekend would be a great time to get your luggage in order. When was the last time it got a clean? I know my bags are in desperate need of a good clean. Here are some tips:

If your bags are all soft and have no hard boards in them then it should be really easy to clean. These bags are normally made from thick nylon and can take some serious scrubbing. You can use an all purpose cleaner like Blendwell Chemicals Cleardet. This is an ideal cleaning product because it is able to effectively clean your luggage and does not have a fragrance so your clothes won't end up smelling like cleaning products. Mix one part Cleardet to ten parts of water and use a soft brush or cloth to clean your bag. Pay special attention to extra dirty areas and then repeat the process with clean water to get rid of any residual cleaning chemical that may be likely to attract dirt. If there are hard boards in your bag, these may be made from a type of cardboard. If these get wet then the bag will lose shape. It is best to use the least amount of water possible. Rather spray the mixed cleaning product onto the bag and work it in. Never spray too heavily, a light spray should be more than adequate. For leather products, you will need to treat entirely differently.

The Rules of Cleaning - 9-11

The Rules of Cleaning are really simple to follow and they will make cleaning go easier, faster and be safer.

9. Begin with dry
With any area that you are cleaning, it’s a good idea to start with the ‘dry’ cleaning first. Do all the dusting, sweeping and vacuuming first. Then move on to the wet jobs. This way there will be less dirt to try clean up with your wet methods. It will all go much faster.

10. Take it easy
There are a great deal of electronics in our homes and offices these days and cleaning around these items does require care. Obviously, you don’t want things to be getting wet but they will need to be wiped down. It’s best to spray your cleaning cloths with your cleaning product first and then wipe down. This will also apply to photo frames and artwork.

11. You can take it with you
If it is your home or your office being cleaned, having a complete set of cleaning supplies for each person will make the cleaning go faster. This set of cleaning supplies should be easy for someone to carry around with them. This way each person can get on with the jobs they have to do and not be walking around looking for the right cleaning product or equipment. Depending on the environment being cleaned, you may be required to have separate cleaning equipment for each area (like the food industry is required to have).

The Rules of Cleaning - 7 + 8

As you go about any cleaning job, you main aim is to remove dirt. To do that quickly, safely and effectively is sure to be your aim. Here are some more of the rules of cleaning to help you do just that.

7.  Cleaning it up now!
If a spill occurs to clean it up immediately can save you huge amounts of time and it may also save the item from becoming damaged as the stain will not have a chance to set in. If a potential stain has a chance to dry out it will take longer to clean and you may not be able to totally get rid of it. There is an exception to the rule: mud. If you are unlucky enough to have someone track mud into your carpets, let it dry first. Then you can just vacuum it up. If you tackle it while it is wet, you may create a bigger mess.

8. Start at the top
Don’t fight gravity when you’re cleaning. Always start at the top and work your way down. You’ll have a lot less wiping to do. If you do this, it is unlikely that the mess you create will be landing on something you have already cleaned. Think about when you clean your car and the dirty water dribbles down the side. If you had started on the sides and not the roof you would have to do the sides all over again.

The Rules of Cleaning - 5+6

I have some more of those fabulous rules for cleaning for you today. Some of them may seem like common sense to some of you but you’ll be amazed by how not considering just one of these points can cause a lot of hassle for you and your staff. Having a clean, safe and hygienic place of work really does make a huge difference to morale.

5.  Start soft
When cleaning it is a good idea to start with the softest and gentlest approach first. Use the softest cleaning equipment with the least harmful and well diluted cleaning product as your starting point if you are unsure of how to clean. Use more aggressive techniques and cleaning chemicals only if you have to. Cleaning equipment like steel wool can seriously damage surfaces so you wouldn’t want to start off with it. Harsh cleaning chemicals can also cause damage to the item being cleaned as well as being more likely to cause damage to the environment. Start soft and gentle, you can always be more aggressive later.

6.   Time is on your side
One of the things that make cleaning products work better is contact time. So let your cleaning products do the work for you. Spray or wipe the cleaning product onto the item being cleaned and leave it for a couple of minutes to activate. Don’t leave it too long or it might dry out. When you come back to wipe it off chances are that you will only need to wipe it away rather than scrub at it.

The Rules of Cleaning -3+4

Following the rules of cleaning is usually really easy and it saves so much time and money in the long run. It’s well worth it.

3.  Always use safety gear. If you are cleaning, you will need to be careful. Some people are also more sensitive than others and just washing dishes with ordinary dishwashing detergent can send some people into a bout of eczema or dermatitis. Even if you are not one of those people, you may react to a specific cleaning product so it’s better to be safe than sorry. Basic safety gear should include rubber gloves and safety glasses. Your eyes can be accidently exposed to cleaning products. While you are cleaning or pouring cleaning chemicals they can splash accidentally. Some cleaning products contain acids that can seriously damage eye tissue. Even if cleaning products are skin friendly, lasting and continuous exposure can cause the skin to dry out. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

4.   If you are not sure about the way you are going to clean something, then do a test. This is best done on a small inconspicuous area of the item being cleaned. This will be necessary if the item is delicate and easily damaged by a cleaning product. Testing should also let you know if the item is colour fast and what the best method will be.

Blendwell Chemicals manufactures a huge range of cleaning products. For further information on the cleaning chemicals available please visit www.blendwell.co.za. Our factory in Halfway House, South Africa is the best place to get your local wholesale cleaning products.

The rules of cleaning

Cleaning needn’t be a horrible chore. Regardless of what you are cleaning – whether it is your home, office, factory, shop or workshop – the same rules apply. If you follow the basic rules of cleaning it will go faster and you’ll get better results. Being prepared and using the right cleaning products in the right way will save you time, money and avoid damage to yourself, the item being cleaned and even the environment.

The rules:

1.  Use the correct cleaning product for the job at hand.
This can save you hours of work. It is worth investing in the correct cleaning products for each of the things that you clean. Trying to clean a well-used fry top with dishwashing liquid is never going to give you great results no matter how concentrated the dishwashing liquid is. It simply does not have enough degreasing power to cut through the fats and grease and burnt on carbon. Using the correct products will leave you with a hygienic work environment. There have been studies that prove that work environments that are clean have better attendance and performance from employees. Now isn’t that a good reason to clean up your act?

2. Use the cleaning product the correct way
Using the cleaning product correctly will mean that you will need to use the correct equipment for the item you need to clean and dilute the cleaning product correctly. Read the instructions of your cleaning product. Some items can be easily damaged and this can cost an enormous amount of money to replace. For example, don’t use a scouring pad to clean a plastic container or a traditional mop to clean laminate floors. By not diluting the cleaning product correctly you will also waste the cleaning product. By not diluting enough, the cleaning product will be stronger than it needs to be and can cause damage to the item as well as putting extra pressure on the environment when it is thrown out. By diluting too much, the cleaning product may be ineffective.

What type of floors do I have?

In order to be able to effectively clean your floor, you will first need to know what type of floor you have.

There are several different categories that your floor may fall under. Flexible floors will include vinyl and linoleum. Hard floors can be porous or non-porous. Porous floors will be marble, raw cement, unglazed ceramics, terracotta and brick. These floors can often stain easily. Non-porous hard floors will be glazed ceramic, terrazzo, granite, slate, sealed marble and sealed cement. Stainless steel can sometimes be used for flooring in factories. Carpets and laminate flooring also require their own special ways to be cleaned.

Blendwell Cleaning Solutions has a fabulous range of cleaning chemicals perfect for all types of floors. The only floors we do not have a cleaning product for yet is laminate floors but we are working on it and expect to release it shortly. Things to remember when cleaning floors

It’s always a good idea to keep safety in mind when cleaning your floors. Floor cleaning should ideally happen when there are going to be the least amount of people walking over the area being cleaned. Sometimes this is not possible so it will be necessary to put out safety signs so that people can be aware of the wet and probably slippery floor so that you can avoid accidents.

If you have followed the basic principles of cleaning by using the correct cleaning product in the correct way you will have checked what type of floor you are cleaning. Is the hard floor sealed or porous? This will greatly affect the choice of cleaning product used. A porous floor will hold oils and fats in the pores of the flooring and makes the floor more susceptible to surface contaminants. The oils that remain on the floor will make it more likely to be slippery.

For more information on cleaning chemicals for floors please visit www.blendwell.co.za/Floor_Care_Cleaning_Chemicals. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions has all the cleaning products you’ll need. How to use floor cleaning products

As with all cleaning, there are always the basic principles of cleaning that should be followed so that you can get the best results for your effort.

The most important thing to remember is to use the correct cleaning product. Using the incorrect cleaning product can be very frustrating as you may scrub away for ages and not get anything cleaned. Or worse, you may ruin your floors!

It is equally important to know how to use the cleaning product that is recommended for the job at hand. The temperature of the water that you use to dilute the cleaning chemical can be very important in certain cases. Some things just have to be heated to clean while others work better cold. You’ll need to know how much to agitate your cleaning product. You may be able to just pour the mixed cleaning product onto the floor to be cleaned or you may have to mix it really well and work it into the surface. You’ll want to know how long to leave the cleaning chemical on your floor. Sometimes cleaning products need time to activate and start working after they have been applied. Finally, you will also need to be aware of how to apply the cleaning product. You’ll need to know how much to dilute the cleaning chemical.

If you follow all these steps you will be able to have a clean floor with the least amount of effort. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions manufactures all the floor cleaning chemicals you will need to get your floor looking great. Please visit www.blendwell.co.za/Floor_Care_Cleaning_Chemicals for more information on floor cleaning products. Blendwell is your best local cleaning products wholesaler.

Why do we clean floors?

Today there are so many different types of flooring options for our home, office and factory. Knowing how to clean different types of floors will help you save time and money. Of course, what you do in that space will also affect what you use to clean the floors.

Firstly, why would we need to clean the floor? Well, it looks nice when the floor is clean. But appearance isn’t the only reason. It’s more hygienic to have a clean floor. We’ve all done a three second rule when accidentally dropping food on the floor (although some of us will not admit to this) but this could be taking a serious risk if doing this on a dirty factory floor as opposed to your kitchen floor that had just been cleaned. We also clean floors for safety reasons. When something oily, greasy or even wet remains on a floor it can pose a safety risk as someone could easily slip and hurt themselves.

Blendwell Cleaning Solutions has all the different types of cleaning products you will need to clean any floor. For more information on the floor cleaning products we manufacture please visit www.blendwell.co.za/Floor_Care_Cleaning_Chemicals. We are the best local cleaning products wholesaler.

How to choose the right dish washing liquid

Blendwell Cleaning Solutions offers many different types of dishwashing liquids. We have created many different types so that you are able to choose the one that is perfect for you. Many people are not aware of this but using too much dish washing liquid can make your dishes dirty by leaving streaks.

Because of this, using a dishwashing liquid that is very concentrated will cause streaks if you use too much. A concentrated dishwashing liquid will also cost a lot more than a less concentrated washing liquid. Usually it will make more sense if you have staff members choosing how much of the cleaning product to use, it will be better to choose a less concentrated dish washing liquid. At the same time if there is a high amount of grease that will need to be regularly washed away you will need a more powerful cleaning product.

For more information on these dishwashing liquids, please visit www.blendwell.co.za. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions always has the right cleaning product to suit your needs. Our factory in Midrand, South Africa stocks a huge amount of cleaning products. We are your best local cleaning products wholesaler.

How to clean your car without the schlep

I'm all for doing things in a way that is quicker, easier and gives me better results. My car is one of my prized possessions that suffers enormous abuse because I just don't have the time, energy or inclination to clean it. Yes, I know, I could pay someone to do it but that is money that could go towards something fun for the family. Excuses, excuses....

But now, I've found something that works incredibly well and it's so quick and without any of the usual fuss. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions has an amazing product called Waterless Carwash. Wow, it really is simple to use. Normally, when I wash my car the first ten minutes are spent trying to find all the things I'll need, parking my car in the right place, searching for the garden hose which inevitably has been chewed by one of the dogs and so it goes....I also have to change clothes because I will get soaked in the process even if there isn't some mischievous child hanging around thinking it's so fun to play with water.

I used this new wonder cleaning product from Blendwell Cleaning Solutions the other day and I cleaned my car in the garage! I didn't have to search for a million things and it took me no more than ten minutes from start to finish. I simply sprayed the Waterless Carwash onto my car and wiped away with a cloth. The cloth was pretty disgusting by the time I had finished but my car sparkled like it was new. It also used no water so there was no wastage of our precious resources. Even if I had cleaned my car the traditional way I would not have been able to get it looking as good in three times the amount of time. I love this cleaning product!

For more information on this and all the cleaning products available from Blendwell Cleaning Solutions please visit www.blendwell.co.za. You will be able to find all the cleaning chemicals you need at their factory in Midrand, South Africa. We are your best cleaning products wholesaler!

What is the dirtiest place in your kitchen?

Most kitchens have one place that is regularly ignored and can suffer from a fair amount of grease build up. Add dust and dead moths to this mix and it can become rather disgusting. It’s your kitchen lights of course! Especially in homes where the fashion is now to have beautiful chandelier type lights in the kitchen. When last did you take a closer look at your lights?

The most effective way of dealing with your lights and light fittings is to first remove all dead bugs that may have gathered in the fittings. If there are glass and plastic parts that you can remove, do so.  These light covers can then be washed. Run a sink full of warm water and put a squirt of dishwashing liquid in the sink. You can use a cleaning product like Blendwell Cleaning Solutions Greendet. This cleaning product has good grease cutting power and will be able to clean these covers in no time. All other parts should be wiped down. Obviously, do not allow yourself to be exposed to any electrical cords and do not allow any damp cloths near electricity. Replace the covers and stand back and enjoy your truly clean kitchen.

Blendwell Cleaning Solutions has a large amount of cleaning products for home, office and industrial cleaning. For more information please visit www.blendwell.co.za. Our factory is in Midrand, South Africa. We are your best local cleaning chemical manufacturer.

How to clean small machine parts using a hot soak tank cleaner

Hot soak tank cleaners are not as expensive to but as cold soak tank cleaners but they do require heating. This heating of the cleaning product require time and electricity which can cost you in the long run. It may be easier for you as storage of these cleaning products is not as complicated as cold soak tank cleaners.

If you have decided that a hot soak tank cleaner is the way to go and you have small engine parts to clean you could use a product like Bupi Cleaner. For small parts, simply mix the powder at the right ratio to water and heat up to 80 degrees Celsius. Once your solution has reached the required temperature, put the parts into the dip basket and gently lower the basket into the heated cleaning chemical. Leave for two hours. Remove and rinse thoroughly.

For larger engine parts, this cleaning product can also be used to spray on the items to be cleaned. This industrial cleaning product works well with most metals and has been designed to be gentler than some of our other soak tank cleaners.

Blendwell Cleaning Supplies has all the industrial cleaning chemicals you will need. Our products are manufactured in our factory in Halfway house, South Africa. How to clean machine parts - cold soak tank cleaners

If you have decided to clean using a cold method of soak tank cleaner then you have opted to use a solvent based cleaning product in your workshop. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions manufactures a couple of different types of soak tank cleaners and Black Turbo was created to work as a cold soak tank cleaner.

Because this industrial cleaning product is mostly made from solvents it can easily evaporate. We have made ours with a water seal to help prevent evaporation. It is still important to store this product correctly to ensure its longevity. Black Turbo is very effective on epoxy and enamels but also works well on carbon, grease and paint. This cleaning product is ideal for when you need to clean larger engine parts. You would need to have a large drum of Black Turbo and a dip basket that can be gently lowered into the exposed industrial cleaning product. The parts to be cleaned should remain in the solvent for anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours – depending on your parts to be cleaned. Once removed from the cleaning chemical you will need to rinse thoroughly with water before painting or working on your machine parts.

If you would like to find out more about cleaners available from Blendwell Cleaning Solutions please visit www.blendwell.co.za/Industrial_Cleaning_Chemicals. You will be able to but this and many other industrial cleaning products from our factory near the Gautrain station in Midrand, South Africa. We are the best local cleaning chemical manufacturer!

How to clean machine parts

Cleaning machine parts to be worked on or before refitting requires some very serious cleaning chemicals. The cleaning products required are called soak tank cleaners and they need to be able to effectively cut through huge amounts of grease for the machine parts to clean enough.

Machine parts are usually cleaned using a method called soak tank cleaning. This involves dipping a basket containing the relevant machine parts into a drum containing the cleaning product. These soak tank cleaners can be hot or cold. Typically a cold soak tank cleaner would be solvent based. This usually requires a larger financial outlay initially however if the product is used and stored correctly it can last for as long as five years.

Hot soak tank cleaners are water-based and do not cost as much as cold tank cleaners. There is a rather large running cost on this cleaning product. Hot soak tank cleaners will need to be heated to a temperature of around 70 degrees Celsius before the dip basket can be lowered into the cleaning product. Once it has been heated up adequately the dip basket can be lowered into the cleaning product and may need to stay there for up to two hours. This can equate to five hours of heating.  With electricity costs being what they are these days this can add up to a huge electricity bill.

For more information on how to clean your machine parts and our hot and cold soak tank cleaners please visit www.blendwell.co.za/Industrial_Cleaning_Chemicals. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions will be able to provide you with all the cleaning products you need in your workshop. We are the best local cleaning chemical manufacturer!

How to clean up extreme dust

When you're lucky enough to have building projects being done in your home, it's always an awesome experience when the job is finished. Cleaning up, however, is never much fun. The levels of dust after sanding or breaking down walls are extreme.

The best thing to do is to try isolate the area that is going to get messy. Close doors where you can or try put up plastic sheets to act as curtains. This is not always possible. If you have to just deal with it pack away as many items as possible. Computers, tvs, dvd players and hi-fi's are particularly sensitive to dust. Lay sheets over them is you are unable to move them.

When you're ready to start cleaning up you should start with your vacuum cleaner. Vacuum as much dust as you can. You may need to clean the filter of your vacuum cleaner a few times as this amount of dust is so vast. You should vacuum everything that you can - the floors, the walls, countertops, couches, beds, tables, everything. When the worst of the dust is gone you should then take a damp cloth and wipe everything down. You should use a microfibre cloth and rinse out regularly. This will prevent the dust from just being moved around. Only after these steps have been completed can you then clean items in their usual manor.

Transport Strike

Please be aware that we have been affected by the transport strike. We are doing our best to overcome the situation by sending our vehicles to collect raw materials wherever we can. But this is not always possible and some products are not available at the moment. We are working hard to avoid any further problems. Please contact our offices on 011-805-9940 for further information and to place your orders.

How to wash your hands properly

For ordinary use, you should wash your hands for at least 30 seconds – a quick dip under a running tap is not enough. For office and home use I would recommend using soap like Blendwell Cleaning Solutions Pink Hand Soap. This is a good cleaner while still being gentle on the skin.

Wet your hands and apply soap.  Rub this soap between your palms and rub the top of your hands. Open your fingers of both hands and lock your hands together keeping your fingers straight. Move your hands up and down so that the spaces between your fingers are cleaned. Don’t forget to wash your thumbs. Also make sure to include your wrists and forearms. You may need to use a soft brush to clean your finger nails if they are dirty. Rinse all areas with fresh water when you’re done and dry thoroughly preferably with a disposable towel. If at home make sure your hand towel is changed out regularly to avoid recontamination.

This is a great method to teach your children and the earlier they start doing it the more of a habit it is for them. Even a child of two can manage to wash this way. For them, it’s quite fun and you can sing a little silly ‘wash your hands’ song as you do it with them.

You will find all your cleaning supplies at Blendwell Cleaning Solutions in Halfway House, South Africa. For more information you can visit our website at www.blendwell.co.za. We are the best local cleaning chemical manufacturer!
