How to wash your hands properly

For ordinary use, you should wash your hands for at least 30 seconds – a quick dip under a running tap is not enough. For office and home use I would recommend using soap like Blendwell Cleaning Solutions Pink Hand Soap. This is a good cleaner while still being gentle on the skin.

Wet your hands and apply soap.  Rub this soap between your palms and rub the top of your hands. Open your fingers of both hands and lock your hands together keeping your fingers straight. Move your hands up and down so that the spaces between your fingers are cleaned. Don’t forget to wash your thumbs. Also make sure to include your wrists and forearms. You may need to use a soft brush to clean your finger nails if they are dirty. Rinse all areas with fresh water when you’re done and dry thoroughly preferably with a disposable towel. If at home make sure your hand towel is changed out regularly to avoid recontamination.

This is a great method to teach your children and the earlier they start doing it the more of a habit it is for them. Even a child of two can manage to wash this way. For them, it’s quite fun and you can sing a little silly ‘wash your hands’ song as you do it with them.

Do you know how to wash your hands?

This may sound like a ridiculous question but many people are in too much of a hurry to clean their hands properly and they think a cleaning their hands only involves them quickly wetting their hands. This is not enough.  Then there are other people who believe in only using a soap with claims of being anti-bacterial. For ordinary household and office hand cleaning it is not necessary to go this far. There have also been studies that show that people who use a lot of anti-bacterial soap are also more likely to have skin problems like eczema and are therefore more likely to spread bacteria as it can then “hide” in the damaged areas of their skin. You would be better off with washing your hands often and you will be keeping them cleaner than occasional washing with a disinfectant soap.

Blendwell Cleaning Solutions makes a large range of hand cleaners and liquid hand soaps. Each of their hand cleaning products has been created for specific uses in different environments. It would be unnecessary and impractical to clean your hands before preparing dinner with an industrial hand cleaner. We also make some eco-friendly hand soaps.

How to clean your hands at the end of your work day

At Blendwell Cleaning Solutions we like to stay ahead with trends and needs of our customers. It’s important to us to continuously relook at the cleaning products we manufacture and see if we can do them differently to suit new trends in the market. When it comes to cleaning your hands when they are covered in grease all day, it’s not always enough just to get them clean.

We know that having soft hands is something most people would like and many cleaners can be really hard on the skin. Blendwell Cleaning Solutions has recently introduced Bead Cleaner. This hand cleaning products has extra skin softening agents in it for extra moisturisation. There are coconut derivatives and lanolin to help with skin stay soft. We’ve also added beads to this hand cleaner to gently exfoliate the skin while you’re cleaning it. Another added advantage of the beads is that when rinsed down the drain, the beads will float and not clog up the drain.
