How to clean your kitchen sink

It’s not a bad idea to give your kitchen sink a good clean every once in a while. Lucky it should see a good amount of soap so yours may not be too bad, but even soap can leave a residue.
It’s important to remember that most sinks can scratch so do not use abrasive cleaners. You should always wear gloves and be sure to not splash product in your eyes when doing any kind of cleaning. For lightweight cleaning, you could consider using a product like Blendwell Chemicals Cleardet. What’s great about Cleardet is that it does not have fragrance. This means that it will not interfere with any food that comes into contact with the surface that has been cleaned with it. Simply add 50ml to about 5litres of warm water and clean all the parts of your sink. Don’t forget to include the plug and plughole and the taps. Use a soft sponge or cloth to clean and rinse thoroughly with clean water when finished.
If you have some marks that don’t respond to this solution you can try a product like Blendwell Chemicals Maxikleen. You should use Maxikleen in the same way as Cleardet. Dilute 50ml in about 5 litres of warm water and only use a soft sponge or cloth to clean. Be sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards.
By  cleaning your sink regularly and making sure that solids are not washed down the drain you can limit the times you will need to unblock your drain. Be sure to check with the manufacturer of your sink that these cleaning methods are acceptable to their particular brand.
