Car Cleaning Chemicals

If you’re anything like me, you’ll only clean your car under extreme duress. Don’t get me wrong, I love having a clean car, I just don’t like doing it. But then, every couple of months I can’t take it anymore and I give my car a thorough clean.

Before I get started I get my kit together. This kit has at least 5 cloths (microfiber is better), a sponge, a bucket, vacuum cleaner with attachments, brush and pan and my set of cleaning products. My car cleaningproducts include: Car Wash for the outside followed up with Car Polish, Window Cleaner, Silicone D Fluid for dashboard and tyre cleaner, Carpet Shampoo for seats and mats and Ecolyte DG for cleaning the things my kids have touched after eating something. There are rules about not eating in my car but of course my kids find a way to ignore these rules when I’m not watching.

When my car is not that dirty, I can use Car Wash & Wax for cleaning the exterior. This car cleaning product is best used when you want to do a quick wash. Car Wash & Wax is a car wash product that has a built in wax which will replace the wax lost during washing. For a really quick clean I can use Waterless Car Wash which allows me to clean the outside of my car without using water. It’s so easy!

I could use Wac GP Cleaner for spot cleaning but I do prefer green products so I use Ecolyte DG Cleaner and I’m very happy with the results. If I had leather seats I would need Leather Cleaner and Leather Polish.

Blendwell Chemicals manufactures these car cleaning products in their factory in Midrand, South Africa.

How to clean your floors - degreasers

Cleaning floors in your home and office is a necessary part of daily cleaning. We can use a degreaser to clean tiled or vinyl floors on a regular basis. A floor degreaser will help lift the dirt off the floor and leave you with more time to do what you want.
In your home or office, you can use a floor
cleaning product like Blendwell Chemicals Cleardet. Cleardet is a light degreaser and is wonderful for cleaning tiled and vinyl floors.  First things first, sweep the floor thoroughly and make sure that most of the furniture is out of the way. In a 5 litre bucket put about 50ml of Cleardet and fill up with water. You can use a sponge or a spaghetti mop. Dip the mop in the bucket and clean away! Once floors are dry you can walk on them again.
Cleardet floor cleaning chemicals are manufactured by Blendwell Chemicals. Blendwell Chemicals has a huge range of cleaning products. Contact us now to find out more.

How to clean lights in your kitchen

Lights in the kitchen areas are easy to ignore when it comes to cleaning your kitchen. Slowly over time they get covered in general kitchen grime and the room actually starts to get darker. It’s important to give the lights in your kitchen a clean every few months to avoid that horrible grease build up.
First things first, switch off the lights. If your lights are inset into the ceiling then it will be important to regularly wipe these lights with a slightly damp cloth. Immediately wipe with a dry cloth. If your lights have covers that can be removed, then do so. The glass and metal parts can then be cleaned thoroughly.

Do not allow water to touch any electrical parts. Light cleaning may not work on these parts. Mix a solution of 50ml of Blendwell Chemicals Wac GP Cleaner in 5 litres of water.
Wipe or spray the solution onto the parts to be cleaned and leave for 5 minutes. Then wipe off with a soft cloth and do a final wipe with a clean cloth. If this does not work then add another 50ml of Wac GP Cleaner and allow to soak for an extra 10 minutes.
Be sure to wear gloves while cleaning kitchen lights. Also do not use any rough sponges or scouring pads as you may scratch the metal or glass that you are trying to clean.

How to clean with degreasers - machine parts

Engineering workshops often have a really hard time cleaning machine parts. These parts can be so heavily covered in grease that they are difficult to clean. Blendwell Chemicals has the perfect degreasing cleaning chemical for this job and is most commonly used in the engineering and mining sectors.
Black Turbo
is a cold tank cleaner and can seem quite expensive to use. However, this cleaning product is reusable and is incredibly effective on grease, carbon and paint. It also works really well on epoxy and enamel.
This industrial
cleaning chemical is mostly made up of solvents that strip the parts to be cleaned. There is also a built- in water seal which prevents unnecessary evaporation. This process should be done in a well ventilated area and full safety gear should be worn. Ideally, the part should be dipped into this cleaning chemical for about 30-60 minutes. It is best to use some type of hoist to lower the object to be cleaned into the chemical. This should be more than enough time to remove all the grease and grime. The item to be cleaned is then removed and rinsed clean with water.
Please be sure that when the time comes to replace this
machine cleaning chemical with a fresh one that the chemical is disposed of responsibly. A waste disposal company should be hired for this purpose to ensure that the chemical, which can be hazardous to the environment, does not cause any harm. This cleaning product can be sometimes be boosted to allow it to be used even more often rather than replaced.
Blendwell Chemicals manufactures
Black Turbo and a large range of industrial heavy duty degreasers.

Cleaning in schools - Washing hands

We all know how important it is to teach our children about cleanliness. Maintaining suitable levels of hygiene and cleaning bathrooms, helps prevent the spread of disease. It is imperative that schools continue to teach our children about hygiene and maintain the highest hygiene standards within the school.

It’s been proven that the cleaner the school, the better the attendance of students and teachers and therefore the results of the pupils. At the end of the day, we all want our children to do really well at school so insisting that our schools are clean is an important part of this process.

Ensuring there are good hand washing facilities is a great place to start. All children should be reminded that they should wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet. Students should have some soap and some dry towels available. Best choices would be a liquid or foam dispenser soap and a hand air dryer. Some people feel that air dryers take too long or don’t work so well but the newer generation types are usually quite quick and thorough. You could also supply paper towels. This is isn’t the greenest choice as these towels are usually made from paper but you can get paper towels that are made from recycled parts and use no bleach in their manufacture.

Just encouraging the washing of hands amongst students will help curb the spread of germs and bacteria.

Blendwell Chemicals has many wonderful hand cleaning products available. Please visit our website today for the options that will suit you.

What is the difference between deep cleaning and maintenance cleaning?

When you’re serious about cleaning you will learn the difference between deep cleaning and maintenance cleaning. Maintenance cleaning is the regular cleaning that happens most often. Deep cleaning will be that really intense clean that occurs least often.

The environment to be cleaned will dictate the type of cleaning required and how often. A small office environment where there are not many people and everyone is quite tidy will not require that much cleaning. You may find that cleaning two or three times a week is enough. For an area that has many people passing through, it may need cleaning at least once a day maybe twice. Areas where food is prepared or eaten may require hourly cleaning.

Maintenance cleaning usually requires quick cleaning methods that will not require major moving of furniture or stripping of machines. It will require a quick wiping down of most surfaces including floors.

Deep cleaning will require cleaning of machine parts including extractor fans and air conditioners; moving equipment and furniture and cleaning behind their normal position and undersides and sides of tables and work surfaces. It will probably also include window cleaning. In a food environment or ablution facilities, deep cleaning should occur at least weekly. An office may only require deep cleaning every  couple of months.

There are many different items that will need cleaning in an industrial environment and sometimes the industrial cleaning chemicals used will need to also mask bad smells. If you need to clean drains or big black bins or any other area that regularly has an odour problem then there is sure to be something in the Blendwell Chemicals range you can use.

I would recommend that you use Black Fluid P. This industrial cleaningchemical had disinfecting properties to help destroy the cause of any odours. It also has a really strong phenolic smell to mask any odours that might remain after cleaning. The items being cleaning should be rinsed thoroughly after use.
