How to clean your garden furniture

It’s almost time for the festive season and most of us will be starting our summer holidays soon. You may be lucky enough to be going away but if not then no doubt there will be many plans to spend some time in your garden. Garden furniture if not cared for regularly can wear quite quickly. Wooden furniture needs yearly oiling or staining. Follow manufacturer’s instructions.

Plastic garden furniture needs to be cleaned with very light detergents for time to time. You can use a product like Blendwell Chemicals Greendet. This dish washing liquid will be gentle enough not to ruin the plastic. Squirt some in a bucket of water and fill up with water. Use a sponge to clean the furniture and rinse off with water.

It will be necessary to clean up spills as they happen. You can use a damp cloth for this. When done using the furniture for the day tilt the chairs towards the table so that the seats do not get rain or dirt on them. Cover the table if you can.

What is REACH?

REACH is an acronym for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical Substances. In 2007, this law was introduced in Europe as part of the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. REACH aims to identify chemical substances earlier to improve human health and the environment. As well as, improve competitiveness within the chemical industry.

How is Ecolabel Awarded?

Ecolabel is a European wide accreditation that is awarded to products or services where these products or services are superior to others in their field as well as being environmentally friendly. For a company to be awarded Ecolabel is a tremendous achievement. The criteria for being awarded Ecolabel are extremely stringent and encompass all aspects of the business and the production process.

Because Ecolabel is spread through Europe, independent and impartial bodies administer Ecolabel on a national level. It is the duty of these bodies to assess applications. In the case of Delphis Eco products being awarded Ecolabel, they were assessed by Defra. Defra is the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and they award Ecolabel in the UK. Blendwell Chemicals has been manufacturing cleaning chemicals for 20 years. Charles Marais started Blendwell Chemicals in 1990. He brought with him 30 years of experience in the cleaning chemical manufacturing industry.  It was part of his vision to create a company that could focus on creating high quality, unique cleaning chemicals.

Part of this vision required doing some very specific formulating in order to meet customer needs. Some customers have their own formulations which Blendwell Chemicals manufactures for them. Confidentiality Agreements are signed between the parties and Blendwell Chemicals then produces these cleaning chemicals according to the customer’s specifications. Other clients know what they want their cleaning product to do but do not know how to make it. Blendwell Chemicals will them be able to create a formulation for that cleaning product.

The customer often arranges for specific branded packaging for these products to be packed into. This is usually called own label manufacturing. Blendwell Chemicals will be able to pack these cleaning products so long as the packaging sizes are similar to what Blendwell Chemicals already packs into. Generally this would be 5 and 25 litre sizes.
