How can I HACCP clean my factory floors?

If you have a food factory and you need cleaning chemicals to clean your floors, then Blendwell Chemicals has just the product for you. Food factories and industrial kitchens need to comply with HACCP standards of cleaning. Blendwell Chemicals manufactures a range of cleaning products that are HACCP compliant. The H-range of cleaning products cover all your cleaning needs in the HACCP environment.

For cleaning floors I would recommend Alkali H. This cleaning chemical is a heavy duty cleaner and is highly concentrated. It contains caustic and is brilliant at cutting fats and proteins as well as dealing with stains.

Cleaning a driveway, forecourt or workshop floor

Driveways, forecourts and workshop floors can get seriously dirty. There is often a fair amount of grime that these areas are exposed to. Oil and grease from cars and trucks can often be difficult to clean. Exposure to the outdoors all brings a wide variety of dirt.

Cleaning these areas will require some strong cleaning products. Blendwell Chemicals will have all the cleaning products you need to get this job done. First, you can try a cleaning chemical called Conclean. This cleaning product contains caustic and is a powerful cleaner that easily lifts grease and oil.

Yellow Floor Powder is a great choice for driveways, forecourts and workshop floors if you are looking for a strong cleaner that does not contain caustic.

Brickwash is a fantastic cleaning chemical to use if you are looking to remove excess cement that may occur during building. It can also remove light lime discolouration. This cleaning product is not designed to be used regularly. It is too powerful and will damage a floor if used often.

You can also use one of our multi-purpose cleaners like Wac GP Cleaner or Maxikleen to clean these areas. Maxikleen is stronger than Wac GP Cleaner but they are both fantastic cleaning products.

For more information on cleaning floors, please visit www.blendwell.co.za/Floor_Care_Cleaning_Chemicals. Blendwell Chemicals manufactures a massive range of cleaning products and you will be able to find what you’re looking for. How to have the cleanest clothes on the block

Recently, I’ve discovered a fabulous Blendwell Chemicals cleaning product. The strange thing is they have been manufacturing it for a long time but I just never tried it.

My kids are not easy on their clothes. I encourage outdoor play that involves moving around as much as possible. This is great for them but not so great for their clothes. Grass stains, mud stains, and ‘who knows what’ stains are the order of the day. I have spent hours rubbing the dirt off with soap but life is too short and there is too much other stuff to do. Someone suggested I try oxygen bleach. It’s a white powder and you put a scoop in a 5 litre bucket of cold water. Leave your clothes to soak in the water overnight. The oxygen bleach works by releasing oxygen and then lifting the stain. In the morning, check to see that the stain is gone and wash as per normal. If the stain is not gone, try giving the fabric a light rub and put it back in the oxygen bleach solution for a longer period.

I have found this cleaning product to work miracles on my kid’s clothes and even some of mine. It has saved me a lot of time and energy and a fortune in clothes. My clothes come out looking amazing. I feel like I living in a advertisement where everyone has really bright white clothes.

What can I use to clean....?

Cleaning with the right materials will make your cleaning quicker and more effective. Trying to clean a greasy workshop floor with a small soft cloth and no cleaning chemicals will be exhausting and probably a waste time. The best you can expect is to move the dirt around.

For a basic cleaning kit you will need a selection of soft cloths like micorfibre cloths – preferably in different colours for different areas. A mop, mop bucket and a broom are a must. For normal indoor use you will only need a soft broom but outdoor areas and building site will require a hard broom. A dust pan and brush will help with small spills on the floor. Black bin bags always come in handy when cleaning so it’s a good idea to have some around – even if it is only make yourself a makeshift apron to protect your clothes.

Gloves and safety goggles will be necessary too. Make sure you use them!

Blendwell Chemicals is able to supply all of these cleaning accessories for their factory in Halfway House, South Africa. Blendwell Chemicals is a manufacturer of cleaning chemicals and supplies to resellers and contract cleaners. Great tip for candle lit dinners!

If you haven’t yet managed to have your Valentines Day candle lit dinner and are planning to have it at home tonight, I have a great tip for you.

If you want your romantic candle light to last a long time, simply pop the candles into the fridge a few hours before you want to light them. This helps to slow down how fast they burn and you’ll get much more life out them. And, of course, make sure the house is clean.

Safe Cleaning - some other things to know

Fast, effective and easy cleaning is something we all want to achieve. Cleaning should not get in the way of living and working. Following some rules of safety is imperative to achieve this goal.

How you store your cleaning products can affect how safe the people in your environment are. Cleaning products should always be kept away from children and pets and any persons who may not know how to handle them. Ideally they should be kept in a locked cupboard where there is limited access to the key. Depending on your environment, you may want to keep them on a shelf out of reach. When the cleaning products are being used make sure that nothing is left in a walkway or thoroughfare. In an office or factory environment, make sure that the place the cleaning products are stored is not in a place where they could be accidently bumped over.

To keep cleaning safely, it is important to rinse out cleaning cloths, sponges, mop heads, etc after use. It will be necessary to dry them out fully as often as possible. This will help prevent bacteria and mildew from growing.

Safe Cleaning - more of what you need to know

Cleaning is such a necessary part of keeping people safe in their environments. Dirt can bring diseases, loss of productivity and bring down morale. Clutter can create accidents and injuries. While cleaning often feels like a horrible chore, there is a lot to be said of walking into a clean and tidy space.

Having a clean space is not enough, it is also necessary to know how to clean safely. Whatever area you are cleaning – an office, kitchen, bathroom, factory, workshop or bedroom – it will be vital that you make sure that while cleaning there is good ventilation. Harsher cleaning products especially will require that windows and doors are opened so that the person cleaning does not experience any reactions.

It is also a good idea that all the people who use the space are quick to pack things away after use. In particular, children should be trained from an early age to pack their toys away. All members of your household or work space should know to never leave things on the stairs as accidents can easily happen on stairs.

Safe Cleaning - what else you need to know

Following some basic rules when cleaning, to prevent anyone from getting hurt may be necessary. These rules will not take a lot of time to follow and they should make cleaning more effective so it’s worth taking the time now to save some time later.

Before using any new cleaning product, be sure you know how to use it. Each brand can be different so familiarise yourself with your new cleaning product by reading the instructions. This will alert you to any safety precautions you may need to be aware of. Disinfectants, drain cleaner and other strong cleaning chemicals need to be handled with extra care. You should then know how to dilute the cleaning product if it requires dilution. Diluting a cleaning product correctly will allow you to maximise the cleaning power. If you add too much water your cleaning product will be weak and not be able to clean the way you want to. If you don’t add enough water the cleaning product will be too strong and will probably leave streaks on the surfaces you’re cleaning. Even worse, it could be more dangerous to use as the cleaning chemical may be too strong. You will always need to use appropriate safety gear when diluting cleaning products.

Safe Cleaning - what you need to know

Cleaning is something everyone has to do at some point. In certain environments, cleaning may be necessary several times a day. In other spaces, a once a week clean may be all that’s necessary. The environment, who uses that space and what is done in the environment, will dictate how and how often it is cleaned.

Always wear safety gear when you are cleaning. If you are using eco-friendly products it is still recommended that you use safety gear. A pair of gloves is a must, especially if you have sensitive skin. If the cleaning product you are using splashes on your skin you must always rinse off immediately with running water. By wearing gloves you will reduce that risk. If you are diluting chemicals or pouring them into other containers, you should also use safety eye wear to prevent any chemicals splashing into your eyes. The membranes in the eyes are extremely delicate and easily damaged. Please read the instructions that should come with your product as you may need to use other equipment like an oxygen mask, dust mask, chemical resistant overalls or chemical resistant shoes. These safety instructions should come with all cleaning products you purchase and if you don’t have them get in touch with your supplier to provide them so that you can avoid any unnecessary accidents.

Never mix different cleaning products. Remember in science class when you tried to mix things to create mini (or not so mini) explosions. By mixing cleaning products you may get the same result by mistake. Always follow the manufacturer’s directions on how to dilute their cleaning products. This will make your cleaning more effective and save time and money. In the case of diluting cleaning products –more cleaning product does not always give you better cleaning.

Do you have the right stuff?

When it comes to cleaning having the right things to clean with will make the world of difference. Trying to clean a kitchen floor with a small cloth is going to take a huge amount of time and energy. I’m all for cleaning as fast as possible and using the least amount of energy possible. This is not because I’m lazy, it’s because, like most people, I have a gazillion other things to do and cleaning is not something I particularly love doing. Though, I do love having a clean environment to live and work in.

It’s a good idea to have several different cleaning cloths. Microfibre cloths are really nice to clean with because they don’t leave any little fluffy bits of cloth behind when you wipe a surface like most other cloths. I like to have different coloured cloths for different areas. The cloth that cleans your kitchen countertop should never clean the toilet or the floor. When you buy cleaning cloths for your home or office, buy an assortment of colours and if lots of different people are likely to use these cleaning cloths, then it might be a good idea to make a chart so that everyone is aware of which colour cloths are for which cleaning job. This way your cleaning cloths will not cross-contaminate with germs or bacteria found in other spaces.

Blendwell Chemicals now stocks cleaning accessories such as microfiber cleaning cloths in a variety of colours. Blendwell Chemicals is in Midrand, South Africa and we are your best local cleaning wholesaler.
