What is industrial cleaning? - Part1

Cleaning products that are used in industrial applications are called industrial cleaners. These cleaning products are designed to clean items that often have a huge amount of grease and grime. In order to gain a better understanding of industrial cleaning it may be necessary to first define a few of the terms commonly used with this type of cleaning.

When dealing with industrial cleaning products it is necessary to be aware of the flammability of a cleaning product. This means the ability of product to ignite and burn easily.

In many descriptions of industrial cleaning products, you will come across the word solvent. Solvents form the basis of many industrial cleaners. A solvent is a substance that is able to dissolve another substance. Cleaning chemicals can be solvent-based or water-based. Choosing which one to use can have an effect on the environment.

The pH of a cleaning product is also important to understand. The pH level will indicate is a cleaning product is acid, alkaline or neutral in nature. Some items will require an acid environment to be cleaned while others will need to be alkaline.

There are still more definitions that I will need to bring to your attention so please look out for them.
