How to clean green - raw materials

The green movement certainly seems to be taking over and it’s about time too. Going green means looking at all the things we do and finding ways to do them with less impact to ourselves, our community and our environment. The Delphis Eco range of green cleaning chemicals has thoroughly scrutinised every stage of manufacture and use to develop a range of cleaning products that are green at every stage.

The selection of raw materials has been done with great care. A cleaning product needs to be effective in cleaning but it must also do no harm to the people that use it or the environment.

Recently, a customer queried the use of certain raw materials in the Anti-Bacterial Sanitiser. We have included the use of QAC’s (Benzalkonium Chloride and Didecyl Dimethyl ammonium chloride) in this multi-purpose sanitiser. These QAC’s will completely degrade to carbon dioxide and the chlorine that disassociates from the Benzalkonium Chloride will automatically join cations in the environment to form innocuous substances. There are no metal or nasty functional groups formed once they are washed down the drain. Most of the complexes are metabolised and you can be left with peace of mind that there is no adverse effect to the environment.
