For cleaning floors that have been exposed to building work where excess cement
has dropped on the floor and not
been cleaned up in time, you will need to use a seriously strong cleaning chemical.
For this
level of cleaning a plain cement
floor, I would recommend a Blendwell
Chemicals product called Brickwash. This cleaning chemical is a highly acidic detergent blend and must be handled with great care. It works really well on floors that have not
been cleaned for a long time but have a large amount of grease build-up. It
also works really well as a primer if you want to paint the floor afterwards –
just be sure to rinse all of the cleaning chemical off and allow to dry before
attempting to paint.
It is also
effective at removing cement left over from building work as well as cleaning away lime discolouration left
on stone and bricks. Always use full safety gear when handling this product as
it is highly acidic. If you choose to use this cleaning chemical it should only be for once off cleaning. If used repeatedly it can
strip away the floor completely. Do
not use on a painted floor if you want the paint to remain.
