Finalist in Enviropaedia Eco-Awards with SABC3!

We are a finalist in the Eco-Awards - transport category. We submitted our concentrates range and we are hoping to make a big impact with this very clever and simple idea.

Our concentrates allow for cleaning products to be transported to any location with a dramatic cut in transport costs. Once they arrive at their location, the concentrate is diluted to it's specific requirement and products are ready to be sold. The reduction of transport required creates a huge cost saving. Not only that, but the environment is not impacted nearly as much by reducing the amount of trucks on the road.

Save money and the earth by using the same product. It's a win-win!

Because these products are so easy to dilute and mix, no science degree is necessary. These products become ideal for rural communities. We can then look at community upliftment and economic empowerment in rural areas.

So it's really win-win-win!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! If you're planning a romantic dinner for a lucky loved one, try putting your candles in the freezer for an hour or so before you light them. This will keep them burning longer and keep the romance alive. Enjoy your day. Make it special.

Getting ready for Valentine's Day special meal

So you’ve got this amazing romantic dinner planned for the love of your life – or maybe you love of right now. You want to make it impressive so you need to pull out all the stops.

You’ve managed to get all your crockery and cutlery cleaned up. Now it’s time to look at your table linen. Nothing says, “I made an effort” quite like clean crisp white linens.

To get it really clean, first check it see if there are any dirty marks that did not come out in the last wash. If there are some stains, I like to use Blendwell Chemicals Oxygen Bleach. All you do is you put a scoop of Oxygen Bleach into a bucket filled with water and level the linen to soak. I often leave mine to soak for a day or two for really stubborn stains. It works wonders.

Then it’s time to machine wash. Here I like to use Enviro Wash. This cleaning product is eco-friendly and does not contain any phosphates (which can pollute water ways). It is a concentrated and high quality washing powder with the added benefit of being green. One to two scoops on a quick wash – keeping the temperature low should do the trick. Remember, you got all the stains out with the Oxygen Bleach soak so an ordinary wash will do. By doing a quick, low temperature wash you are able to be more earth conscious and use less energy. Save the planet every step of the way!

After the wash, hang out neatly on the washing line. Avoid getting creases and you will have less ironing to do later. Once dry, get out the iron and the ironing board and make it look fabulous. By the time you lay your table, it will look like one from a five star restaurant and your loved one will be so impressed!

Preparing for Valentines Day

So, you’ve decided to make an effort this year. There’s someone you believe deserves to be spoilt and you are going to cook them your fabulous signature dish. There will be candles, there will be wine and there will be romance…

There’s a lot to organise to make sure the evening is perfect and making sure your house is sparkling clean will be part of that. It will be a real shame if your special guest sees dirty tableware and is put off the gorgeous meal you’ve made.

Start with making sure the cutlery and crockery is clean. While filling a sink with hot water, pour in some dishwashing liquid.  Now you can use a traditional cleaning product here like Blendwell Chemicals Greendet. Alternatively, you can opt for an eco-friendly product like Enviroblend Greendet love the planet at the same time.

You don’t need to use a lot of either of these cleaning products – just a small squirt to create some foam. Now you don’t want too much foam as this will actually make cleaning more difficult. To clean your dishes you should use a cloth or soft sponge. Abrasive sponges should only be used for really stubborn dirt. Even your cutlery can be scratched by a sponge so you will want to be gentle (while still being tough on dirt). If you’re struggling to get a pot clean, first try soaking it with really hot water a squeeze of dish washing liquid and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes and then try to clean.

If you have double sinks, you should fill the other sink with warm water to rinse your cleaned dishes. Leave the dishes to drip dry a little and then give a final wipe with a clean, dry cloth before packing away.

You will be able to find all the cleaning products you need at Blendwell Chemicals. We manufacture a massive range of cleaning products including food safe, HACCP compliant cleaners and green cleaning products too. Our factory is in Midrand, South Africa and we are your best local cleaning chemical supplier.
